The JURA CLARIS Pro Smart+ water filter is specially designed to prevent limescale buildup in both the coffee machine and the water tank. It eliminates the need for regular descaling, extends your machine’s lifespan, and helps ensure consistent coffee flavor.

Product Description

Since coffee is more than 98% water, great water quality is crucial. The CLARIS Pro Smart+ uses RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) to keep the machine in constant communication with the filter. It automatically detects whether the filter is correctly installed and adjusts settings accordingly.

The top of the filter cartridge uses ion exchange and activated carbon to remove impurities. Thanks to the up-flow principle, only the water needed for brewing is filtered.

The machine continuously monitors the filter’s usage and notifies you when it’s almost time to replace it. This helps maintain top coffee quality and protects the machine’s internal components from scale.

Bonus benefit: prevents limescale in the water tank

At the bottom of the cartridge is a capsule with natural active ingredients that stabilize the water and reduce limescale in the tank. It works naturally — without power or moving parts — simply by water flow.

Forgot to replace the filter?

When the filter is nearly depleted, the machine will alert you. If not replaced in time, the machine switches to descaling mode and will prompt you to descale — but only once the filter is removed. This eliminates confusion and misuse. Ideally, always replace filters on time. If not, descaling tablets will be needed.

How long does the filter last?

The filter’s lifespan depends on your tap water hardness. After filtering, water hardness is reduced to around 5–6 °dH or 9–10 °fH. The harder your water, the more often you’ll need to replace the filter. During setup, you can test and set your water hardness using the supplied strip.

CLARIS Pro Smart+ is suitable for all types of tap water. It uses a counter-current filtration process, filtering only the water needed for brewing. It also preserves important minerals and fluoride, while removing harmful substances and limescale.

Why filter your water?

Tap water naturally contains calcium, which becomes limescale when heated. Limescale narrows pipes, causes energy inefficiency, and may damage your machine. It also negatively affects flavor. Filtering your water prevents these issues and preserves both machine health and coffee quality.
